Worship Night 26th April 2025 | How it went!

Our last Worship Night on 26th April 2025 went well and was clearly blessed. As these gatherings are relatively new, despite our publicity efforts for the evening, we were still unsure just how many people to expect. At the last minute we became aware of a number of people who were unable to attend for one reason or another, but our concerns soon vanished as there were about 45 of us gathered, many of whom we’d not seen at any previous gatherings.

Sticking to our vision, the evening started with a simple stripped back time of worship with the focus on exalting Jesus and with every effort made to keep it that way throughout the evening. With a simple setup of keys, bass guitar and vocals, along with a simple and fluid selection of worship songs, stripped of complex arrangements and interruptions, the room was alive from the moment we began. We have been taken back by the passion to worship that exists when we meet, more so even when we keep it simple. A huge thank you to those who came for your willingness to enter in despite life’s pressures.

Leading the meetings, the team are always trying to follow the leading of the Spirit, listening for those thoughts, words, instructions, and open to the gifts of the Spirit to operate as He wills among us. We benefited from an encouraging prophecy brought by the Pastor of Tuckton CC, our host for the evening, and we continued to wait for what He wanted next, but somehow something felt very different. It wasn’t so much what He wanted to say to us, but more so what He wanted to do. A peace came into the room that was unusual, like a blanket coming and resting upon us all, life so chaotic, yet for us it seemed as if He just wanted us to receive His love and enjoy a short time of peace in His presence. It was beautiful, and if that’s all He wanted, then we’re ok with that.

This was followed by a message brought by Kelly entitled ‘His power was present to heal’. The main passage was Luke 5:17-26 an account of a paralysed man who was brought to Jesus on a bed by his friends, and lowered through the roof. Of course, this man was healed because Jesus was willing. The encouragement for us was to come to Jesus for healing and not to be put off, know that there is faith though sometimes small, and that Jesus is willing. The examples in the message showed some key figures that pushed through the crowds, called out to Jesus and were not put off. The message also came with an invitation to come to Jesus perhaps for the first time as this too is part of our mission.

The message ended with two very specific words of knowledge for two individuals in the room. Specifics for two people  with two different needs, all of which were unknown to us, but shared in faith with an invitation for two people to respond. Praise God, two people did respond and confirmed those two very detailed and specific words to be true. Ministry followed and along with those two individuals, others in need of healing received prayer ministry from our team as we finished the meeting with another short time in worship.

It’s a great encouragement to have seen so many new faces from a real mix of church backgrounds coming together to join us for an evening of Worship, Word and Spirit. United in Christ, perhaps with different backgrounds and even with reservations about some things, but by uniting around Jesus with Him at the centre, somehow the oil flows just as He said it would.

Our Back to Basics worship nights are stripped back with three simple ingredients, Worship, Word and Spirit. All three were included, we brought our offering before Him, and lives were touched as He moved among us. That’s what it’s all about.

Don’t forget, His work in us and the way He transforms us through such encounters in His presence is not to be kept behind closed doors, but it comes with a purpose too, so let your light shine and share His goodness with those you meet.
