You may have heard someone talking about Jesus, the Bible, Christianity, and wonder what it’s all about, perhaps even asking, why Jesus?
You may wonder what Jesus or Christianity has to do with you?
You may have an opinion about Christianity, the Church, or Jesus, but if you’re honest, you’ve never actually looked into it for yourself.
Let’s break it down and summarise what can be found in the Bible about this.
PRAY to accept Jesus’ Gift of Salvation
God’s invitation to you is to come before Him and receive. You can do this very simply by sitting somewhere alone quietly or with another Christian and pray (speak to God) something like this.
Father God, I come to you in prayer for the first time and I admit that I have sinned and missed the mark of what you require. You know all that I have ever done and I confess that I need to be forgiven.
I thank you for sending your Son Jesus to die on that cross in my place, taking all of the punishment that I deserve for every sin that I have committed and any future sins. I believe that Jesus died and rose again and that He will return one day for everyone that believes in Him. I receive your forgiveness and thank you that it is by your grace alone, through faith in Jesus that I am saved. I turn from my old sinful ways and know that you will help me.
Please fill me with your Holy Spirit now, and help me from this day on, as I begin my new walk with You. Thank you for saving me Lord Jesus. Amen!
If you’ve prayed this prayer from your heart, then God has accepted you and there is now no more condemnation as it says in Romans 8:1.
