Some of these are only partially used by our team for the chorus or bridge sections tagged onto another song, some versions are a little dated, but we do them all our own way and keep it very simple.

Worship Nights Back to Basics | Q3 Summer Jul-Sep 2026 Dates
Worship | Word | Spirit

Join with us for a simple, focussed worship evening. A time where it’s all for Him, about Him and towards Him. A time where Jesus is exalted and His Spirit has room to do His work among us as He wills.

We have ‘enjoyed gathering together with a growing number of people at our Worship Nights over the past year and a half.

As we continue on into Q3 Summer of 2026, we’re looking forward to our next two worship nights in July, (August Is a summer break) and September 2026 as we continue with monthly gatherings.

We have approached Tuckton Christian Centre in Bournemouth again who have kindly agreed for us to continue using their venue for these gatherings for which we’re very grateful.

If you haven’t yet come to any of our worship nights, what we’re doing is simplifying things. With minimal equipment, stripped back worship, a short word, space to wait, receive and minister as led, there’s only one place left to direct our attention, and that’s on Jesus. Our simple approach is intentional as we seek to bring our attention back to the purpose and heart of worship.

It was so good to hear her testimony this evening one year on. You can read it on our website. Link in bio. Jesus still heals today.

To all of you that have attended one, some, or all of these worship nights, thank you! We trust you have been helped, encouraged and built up and we pray you carry something from it back to wherever you worship on a Sunday.

The track name kind of got our attention and then we remembered the awesome guitar solo on that recording by @stugio and it just had to be the section to attach to this post on the topic of a worship event. Easter Sunday 2025 He is risen! On Friday we ended Easter Sunday 2025
He is risen! On Friday we ended our post with Jesus’ words from John 19:30 “It is finished”. Matthew 27 records what happened next. After Jesus’ death His body was buried in a tomb, sealed by a large stone and Pilate made sure the tomb was protected by posting a guard.
.
Day two passes by bringing us to the third day upon which Jesus’ words were fulfilled. The tomb was found to be empty and the Angel of the Lord declared “He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. 7 And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.” Matthew 28:6.
.
The resurrection is central to the Christian faith.
Why is it so important that He is risen?
.
Well, following Adam & Eve’s choice to disobey God, death entered and Mankind was left with a sin problem that could not be ignored by a just God and so there was a price to be paid. Jesus being sinless met the requirements of a perfect sacrifice as required by the law God established through Moses to atone for sin. He chose to take upon Himself the punishment for our sin so that we could go free. Some call it the great exchange!
.
Before Jesus came and died for us, the priests would repeat sacrifices to temporarily atone for sin which required the shedding of the blood of a perfect sacrifice. Jesus was our perfect sacrifice, He died, rose again, defeated death and became our High Priest forever, reconciling man back to God. The work is complete, “It is finished!” and the way back is open to all who will accept and believe.
This is for you too.
.
Visit our ‘Why Jesus?’ page on Acts247.UK to find out more and how to respond.
.
May you be aware of Jesus’ love for you this Easter time.

Good Friday 2025 On Good Friday we remember the c Good Friday 2025
On Good Friday we remember the crucifixion of Jesus, the events of three days in history that changed everything. On the first day we think of how Jesus, a sinless Saviour, having stepped down into this world, walked among us as God in human form and suffered at the hands of Mankind whom He had created. All of this so that the price for our sin (missing the mark) could be paid and settled once and for all.

Foretold by the prophets…

Isaiah 53:5 - But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed. ASV

The journey to the cross faced head on by Jesus knowing He had to complete His mission for us all…

“…Permit even this.” Luke 22

Jesus quoting Psalm 22 even whilst nailed to the cross…

“My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”

And Psalm 69:21 being fulfilled…

“They also gave me gall for my food, And for my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.”

John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, He said, It is finished: and He bowed His head, and gave up His spirit.

On the first day we know as Good Friday, Jesus said…”It is Finished!”

See you on the third day where we celebrate His resurrection!

We’ve been thinking about the need for the genuine We’ve been thinking about the need for the genuine authentic work of the Spirit in our gatherings and were struck by this verse in John 16. This post is an encouragement to be careful with what we attribute to the Holy Spirit, get involved with, and a challenge perhaps to consider carefully what some so easily embrace in the moment. It’s a good thing to pause and consider.
.
John 16:14 He shall glorify Me: for He shall take of mine and shall declare it unto you. ASV
.
In John 16:5-15 Jesus is speaking to His disciples, telling them that it is to their advantage that He goes away and that in doing so, He will send the Helper. In verse 13 we see that Jesus is referring to the Holy Spirit and this chapter describes the work of the Holy Spirit...
.
to convict the world
to guide us in all truth
and…He shall glorify Me!
.
He, the Spirit of truth, will glorify Jesus. This short statement can easily be missed but let’s think about that.
Jesus kept His promise. He sent the Holy Spirit as we see in Acts 2, and today believers continue to receive the Holy Spirit and the gifts listed in 1 Corinthians 12.
.
In Acts 2:39 we read ‘For to you is the promise, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call unto Him.’
.
The ‘promise’ is speaking of the Holy Spirit from verse 38.
.
...He shall glorify Me!
.
We are so blessed to walk with Jesus having received the gift of the Holy Spirit and to see His work among us, and in this post we want to think about that short statement from verse 14:
.
...He shall glorify Me!
.
What does this mean for us today?
.
We all love to experience His presence and power in our gatherings, but we must desire truth, the authentic, the real deal. We must test what we see against scripture.
.
Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit, what do we see in Him? His work isn’t always comfortable and often extraordinary, but...
.
let’s not get caught up in emotion, experience or make Him our entertainment, there must be reverence, and if you’re not sure, simply ask yourself...
.
does this glorify Jesus?
.
.
.

⬇️ Psalm 46 v 10 says ‘Be still, and know that I a ⬇️ Psalm 46 v 10 says ‘Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.’
.
This Psalm uses the words ‘be still’ which we can easily mistake in English for simply a moment to rest, however the Hebrew word actually has an emphasis on ‘letting go, to let drop, to abandon, or perhaps to stop striving as some translations put it.
.
The opening verse of this Psalm says ‘God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore will we not fear…!
It’s a great Psalm to read in full.
.
Life is chaotic and we can find ourselves very busy, consumed even with the task at hand, even in a church context our devotion to His work can lead us into a state of weariness through doing good. As we work hard with good intentions, we can find ourselves striving without even noticing it, and the message to you today is ‘Be still and know…!’. Striving does not always produce good outcomes for the person working this way especially in the longer term.
.
You may be working hard in ministry, you may be up against tough situations, or something that feels like an enemy as the Psalmist often faced, yet the encouragement today is ‘Be still and know…’, let your hands drop, stop striving, let go and let God, look to Him and let Him be your refuge, your strength, and invite Him into your situation today. This isn’t so much about stopping and resting, but in the working, in the doing we can ‘Be still and know…!
.
Sometimes our good intentions lead us into over working or striving for an outcome, and a pause, a short break, or simply a moment to bring Him back into our work is all that is needed. Sometimes our good intentions lead us to take on something He never asked us to do which inevitably takes more of your available time away from things He has asked from you. Sometimes the way we lead our ministry can become forced as we try and produce the outcome we’re wanting. In every case, we need to ‘Be still and know, that He is God’, and in the lowering of our hands and letting go, let us try and listen for His still small voice and His help and strength will be found, and He will bring His desired outcome. Be still…

Some of these are only partially used by our team for the chorus or bridge sections tagged onto another song, some versions are a little dated, but we do them all our own way and keep it very simple.

Enjoy!

Tonight’s Back to Basics Worship Night marked the Tonight’s Back to Basics Worship Night marked the first anniversary of this journey of faith. One year ago at our first gathering a lady called Rosa came forward for prayer and it was later confirmed that she was miraculously healed that night from diabetes! It was so good to hear her testimony this evening one year on. You can read it on our website. Link in bio. Jesus still heals today.

Side note - my chosen track with this post is ‘You Deserve The Applause’ by @martinsmithtv which is of course acknowledging Jesus for who He is to us. The track name kind of got our attention and then we remembered the awesome guitar solo on that recording by @stugio and it just had to be the section to attach to this post on the topic of a worship event. If you don’t know it, go check it out ‘You Deserve The Applause’ by Martin Smith! This post may just be the excuse we needed to post some great music to our page this evening!

This is for you too.
.

Be still…
