Worship Night 1st March 2025 | How it went!

Our first Back to Basics worship night of 2025 was held on 1st March and it went well. We had a lower number than last time in attendance at just over 30 people, but it was a precious time together. If you were there, it was great to see you!

Before our time of worship, we took a moment to consider our motives. We were reminded from what we read in Acts chapter 4 that the move of the Holy Spirit upon those gathered preceded them going out. They did not experience such amazing things without there being a purpose. In that record after that outpouring, we read that as they went, boldness came upon them. For us during this worship night, the challenge for us was to come with pure hearts, not in search of an experience, but with the determination first and foremost to exalt Jesus together, and for any experience that followed to go beyond the walls of the place where we gathered, for the purpose of touching the lives of others.

We also distributed the small Acts247UK cards as seen on our Instagram post with a link to subscribe for event updates, and another link to our website as a quick way to contact us with any testimonies and to access our new gospel page Why Jesus? to help others learn more about the Christian faith. As was said, if there’s a way we can make this website more than just a noticeboard, then this is one way we can achieve that. These cards are small enough to keep in a wallet as a handout or to make finding that gospel resource very easy.

During the worship time the Holy Spirit brought a clear emphasis on freedom from fear and anxiety through some prophetic words which led to multiple people responding for prayer during the worship time. We love it when our plans are disrupted and we have to navigate what God is doing among us. This is a huge part of what our worship nights are about, simply making room for the Holy Spirit to do what He’s wanting to do among us rather than fitting Him in to our plan. It was very encouraging, and we look forward to hearing what God has done for those that received prayer ministry.

We were pleased to have Pastor and Author Ralph Winter-Smith with us again to share God’s word, this time with a message on God restoring the years the locusts have eaten, taken from Joel 2. It was a real encouragement and some responded to the word and received prayer afterward which was good.

Our Back to Basics worship nights are stripped back with three simple ingredients, Worship, Word and Spirit. All three were included, we brought our offering before Him, and lives were touched as He moved among us. That’s what it’s all about.
